Thin, flat cola-flavoured gummy strips with a dusting of sour powder that tastes like someone carbonated a pasta shape and got away with it. The grape's more chaotic sibling. Equally impossible to eat just one of.
If Fettuccine Grape is the classic, Cola is the one that showed up to the party with a different energy entirely. The same flat, fettuccine-shaped gummy strip format returns, this time dusted in a sour cola powder that delivers that distinctive, slightly caramel-tinged cola flavour with a fizzy, tangy edge that makes each piece feel like a miniature carbonated event happening in your mouth. It should not work as well as it does. It works extremely well.
The cola flavour here is bold and committed, hitting that specific note that sits somewhere between an actual cola drink and the platonic ideal of what cola flavouring should taste like, which Japanese confectionery has been perfecting for decades with quiet, consistent success. The sour dusting keeps things lively and prevents the sweetness from ever becoming too comfortable, which means each strip stays interesting right to the end. Bourbon took their already excellent fettuccine gummy format, applied one of Japan's most beloved sweet flavours, and produced something that disappears from the bag at exactly the same alarming rate as the grape. Which is to say, very quickly, with minimal awareness of how it happened. Pasta shaped, cola flavoured, completely serious about neither, and all the better for it.
