Bourbon Alfort Mini Chocolate Rich Milk

If regular Alfort is a dignified afternoon snack, Rich Milk Alfort is what happens when that same dignified snack decides it has been too restrained for too long. The chocolate layer is noticeably thicker and creamier than the original, delivering a deeper, more indulgent milk chocolate hit that coats the butter biscuit base with considerably more enthusiasm than before. It is the same little sailing ship, but this time it means business.

The biscuit remains exactly as crisp and buttery as you would expect from Bourbon, providing the necessary structural integrity to support what is now a fairly serious amount of chocolate per piece. The balance still holds, somehow. If anything the extra richness makes the whole thing more dangerous, because each piece is satisfying enough to feel like a complete experience while simultaneously being small enough to immediately justify another. Bourbon looked at Alfort and asked how it could be improved. The answer, it turns out, was simply more chocolate. As it so often is.
