Jagaimo, shio, batā. Potato, salt, butter. A flavour combination so fundamentally correct that Hokkaido has built an entire regional identity around it, served in everything from steaming roadside baked potatoes to ramen toppings to konbini onigiri. Toho Seika took that combination, applied it to their Potato Fry crackers, and produced something that tastes considerably more comforting than a small foil bag of dagashi has any right to be.
The seasoning here is warm and rich with that unmistakable buttery depth, balanced by enough salt to make every bite feel properly considered and just enough potato flavour to remind you what the snack is actually made of. The crispy, flat fried wafers provide the perfect vehicle, light and crunchy with enough surface area to carry the seasoning generously into every bite. Each bag contains four pieces, which sounds modest until you eat the first one and realise that the bag's lifespan is now being measured in seconds rather than minutes. Jaga Shio Butter sits as the most comforting flavour in the Potato Fry lineup, less bold than Fried Chicken, less savory than Karubi-Yaki, and more reliably reach-for-able than either. The dagashi equivalent of a warm hug from a Hokkaido farm.

Crispy, flat fried crackers with a warm, rich salt and butter potato seasoning. Tastes like the best part of a Hokkaido baked potato in dagashi form. Quietly exceptional.
