Chip Star Consomme arrives in a small tube that fits neatly in a bag, a pocket, or the hand of someone who has decided that a snack should be available at all times and in all situations. The consommé seasoning is rich, savory, and umami-forward, delivering a depth of flavour that has no business fitting inside something this portable. Each uniformly stacked crisp arrives intact and perfectly seasoned, which feels like a small daily luxury that becomes very quickly non-negotiable.

The small size is, in theory, the sensible option. A measured snack. A considered portion. Something to tide you over rather than replace an entire meal. This is a reasonable position to hold right up until the tube is open and the first crisp has been eaten, at which point the consommé seasoning does what consommé seasoning has always done and makes a very compelling case for the next one. YBC designed Chip Star to compete with the big international crisp tubes and then went ahead and made it better by seasoning it like they actually meant it. The small tube runs out faster than seems mathematically possible. This is not a complaint. This is a reason to buy two.
